    From the Fallsview Tourist Area, head north on Stanley Avenue. Walk approximately 1.5 km, passing the Hilton Niagara Falls and the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel. The Monastery of Mount Carmel will be on your left, after the Loretto Christian Life Centre. There are no specific access fees for walking.

Nestled on 12 acres within walking distance of Niagara Falls, the Monastery of Mount Carmel Spiritual Retreat and Conference Centre provides a tranquil environment for spiritual reflection and personal growth. The Carmelites first established a presence in Niagara Falls in 1875, with the present monastery constructed in 1894, initially serving as a hospice and retreat center. In 1920, it transitioned into Mount Carmel College Seminary before returning to its original purpose as a retreat house in 1979. The monastery's chapel showcases beautiful stained-glass windows depicting the lives of Mary and the prophet Elijah, imported from England and installed by McCausland Limited in Toronto. The main altar features a carved statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patroness of the Carmelite Order. Visitors can also explore a replica of the labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral, offering a meditative walking experience. Today, Mount Carmel offers various programs, including spiritual guidance, religious retreats, and workshops. With conference facilities, accommodations, and peaceful gardens, the center welcomes individuals and groups seeking spiritual renewal. The Canadian National Shrine to Saint Thérèse of Lisieux is also located here.
