If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest larger town, Moundou. From Moundou, take the N1 highway heading northeast towards Sarh. Continue on the N1 for approximately 180 km until you reach Sarh. In Sarh, follow the signs to the Njamena route. After Sarh, take the D1 road leading directly to Zakouma National Park. The park entrance is located at RMQ4+263, Parc de Zakouma. Ensure your vehicle is well-maintained for the journey, as some roads may be in poor condition.

For those opting for public transport, take a bus from Moundou to Sarh. Buses depart frequently and the journey takes about 3-4 hours. Once in Sarh, you will need to find a local taxi or shared taxi (known as a 'taxi-brousse') heading towards Zakouma National Park. Confirm with the driver that they will drop you off at the park entrance (RMQ4+263, Parc de Zakouma). It’s advisable to ask around for the best taxi options as availability may vary. The total cost would typically be around 5,000 CFA Francs for the bus and an additional 2,000-4,000 CFA Francs for the taxi.
