From the central area of Arica, head to the main bus terminal, Terminal Rodoviario de Arica, which is located on Avenida Manuel Rodriguez. Look for buses heading towards the 'Humedal' or 'Rio Lluta' destinations. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Once you arrive at the bus stop for Rio Lluta, walk towards the river's edge where you will find the entrance to the wildlife refuge.

If you are staying near the coast, walk along Avenida Comandante San Martin towards the north until you reach Avenida 18 de Septiembre. Turn left on Avenida 18 de Septiembre and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Avenida Manuel Rodriguez. Cross the street and follow the path that leads towards the Rio Lluta area. It will take approximately 30 to 40 minutes on foot.
