Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start on Av. Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins (also known as La Alameda). Head towards the center of Santiago. Once you reach Plaza Baquedano, take a right onto Av. Providencia. Continue until the intersection with Av. Francisco Bilbao, and take a left. Follow this road until you reach the entrance to Parque Metropolitano, then follow the signs to Castillo Hidalgo, which is located at the top of the hill. Parking is available near the entrance of the park, but may incur a fee of around CLP 1,000 to CLP 2,000.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Castillo Hidalgo via public transportation, take the Metro Line 1 (Red Line) to the Baquedano Station. From there, transfer to the Line 5 (Green Line) and get off at the Parque Bustamante Station. Exit the station and walk towards Av. Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins, then head east until you reach the entrance of Parque Metropolitano. The walk will take approximately 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Baquedano towards the park entrance. Bus tickets cost around CLP 800.
