Getting There

• Bus

  From Puerto Natales, head to the main bus terminal located in the city center. Look for buses heading to the Mylodon Cave Natural Monument. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Make sure to check the schedule in advance as the frequency may vary. The bus will drop you off close to the entrance of the monument.

• Taxi

  You can hail a taxi from anywhere in Puerto Natales. Provide the driver with the destination: Mylodon Cave Natural Monument, Y-290 8. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes, and it is advisable to confirm the fare before starting your journey.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Puerto Natales. Start from the main square (Plaza de Armas) and head east on Y-290. Follow the road for about 24 km (15 miles) until you reach the Mylodon Cave Natural Monument. The ride will take around 1-2 hours, depending on your pace. Be cautious of traffic and ensure you have enough water and snacks for the journey.

• Walking

  Walking to Mylodon Cave is not practical due to the distance (approximately 24 km/15 miles), but you can take a scenic hike along the route. Start from the main square (Plaza de Armas) in Puerto Natales and follow Y-290. Be prepared for a long trek, and it’s recommended to wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water and snacks.
