From Cartagena, take Route 90 towards Barranquilla. Continue for about 45 minutes until you reach the exit for Santa Catalina. Follow the signs to Santa Catalina, which will lead you directly to the village. Once in Santa Catalina, follow local signs for Volcan de Lodo El Totumo. Parking is available near the volcano for a small fee (approximately COP 5,000).

Head to the main bus terminal in Cartagena (Terminal de Transportes). Take a bus heading to ‘Santa Catalina’ or ‘Galapa’. The journey will take about 1 hour. After reaching Santa Catalina, you can either take a motorcycle taxi (moto taxi) to the volcano for around COP 5,000 or walk the remaining distance, which is approximately 3 km.
