    The National Museum of World War II Aviation is located on the northwest side of the Colorado Springs Airport. From downtown Colorado Springs, take Milton E Proby Pkwy and head east. Turn right onto Powers Blvd, then turn right onto Drennan Rd. Turn right onto Aviation Way. The museum will be on your left. Parking is free.

Located on the northwest side of the Colorado Springs Airport, the National Museum of World War II Aviation is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history of aviation during World War II. Opened in 2012, the museum houses an extensive collection of over 4,000 artifacts and historical documents, illustrating the vital role that military aviation played in the emergence of the United States as a world power. The museum's collection features 28 fully restored flying aircraft, along with several ongoing restoration projects. Among the notable aircraft on display is the P-38 “White 33,” famously flown by Lieutenant Ken Sparks, who used it to ram a Japanese Zero in flight. Visitors can also view a B-25 Mitchell bomber, a Grumman TBF Avenger, and a fully functioning Link Trainer, with simulators that include an N3N and a modified Link Trainer. Exhibits also highlight the contributions of the Tuskegee Airmen, life on the home front, and displays of uniforms, equipment, and military vehicles. The museum offers both self-guided and docent-led tours, with the latter providing a deeper understanding of the technologies, aircraft, and people involved in World War II aviation. A tour of the WestPac Restorations facility is included with admission, allowing visitors to witness the restoration of vintage aircraft. The Kaija Raven Shook Aeronautical Pavilion, a 40,000-square-foot space, adds even more aircraft and exhibits to explore. Visitors can explore interactive displays and simulators, including a Link trainer, and can get close to the exhibits and aircraft. The museum also hosts tours of the Westpac restoration facility, where vintage aircraft restorations are in progress.
