Check the Glenwood Springs Municipal website for schedules and routes. From the bus stop on Hwy 6 + Traver Trail, it's a short walk to the gondola. The bus is free.

    From many hotels in Glenwood Springs, the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park gondola base is accessible by foot. Follow 6th Street/Highway 6 east, then turn left onto Devereux Road. Walk a short distance to the parking area and gondola base. The walk from downtown is approximately 15-20 minutes.

  • Driving

    From I-70, take exit 116 for Glenwood Springs. Turn north toward the stop light and move into the left-turn lane. Turn left at the stop light and follow the road past the hotels. Look for the overhead gondola and the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park sign on the left. Turn left onto Devereux Road and then take the next right into the parking area access road. Parking is free, but can be limited during peak season. Consider arriving early. Note: There are no tolls on this route.

The Darrow family, who owned the land, installed electric lights in the cave in 1897, making it one of the first electrically lit caves. After being closed for many years, the caves were reopened in 1999 by Steve and Jeanne Beckley, who later added the adventure park to enhance the visitor experience. Today, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park stands as America's only mountaintop theme park, offering a blend of natural beauty, historical significance, and thrilling rides.
