Getting There

• Car

From major highways like I-95, take exit 83 towards Route 32 South. Follow Route 32 South until you reach the intersection with Bank Street. Turn left onto Bank Street and then right onto Walbach Street. Fort Trumbull will be on your right. There is parking available at the site.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Fort Trumbull via public transport, take the Southeastern Connecticut Transit District (SECTD) bus service. You can catch the bus from various locations in New London County. If you are near New London Union Station, take the SECTD Route 9 bus towards Groton. Get off at the stop nearest to Walbach Street and walk towards 80 Walbach St. Depending on your starting point, check the SECTD website for specific bus schedules and routes. A single fare is typically around $1.50.

• Walking

  If you are staying nearby or parked your car in downtown New London, you can walk to Fort Trumbull. Start at the New London Waterfront Park and head south towards Bank Street. Continue on Bank Street until you reach Walbach Street, then turn left. Walk along Walbach Street, and you will see Fort Trumbull at 80 Walbach St. The walk is approximately 1 mile and should take about 20-25 minutes.
