If arriving by bus from elsewhere in Costa Rica, the bus terminal is located a short walk from Playa Puerto Viejo. Once you exit the bus, walk towards the main road and then towards the beach. The beach will be easily visible. Bus fare from Cahuita is around 1,000-1,500 colones.

Taxis and tuk-tuks are readily available in Puerto Viejo. A short taxi ride from nearby beaches like Playa Cocles or Playa Chiquita to Playa Puerto Viejo will cost approximately 700 CRC (1.40 USD).
