    If arriving by bus from elsewhere in Costa Rica, the bus terminal is located a short walk from Playa Puerto Viejo. Once you exit the bus, walk towards the main road and then towards the beach. The beach will be easily visible. Bus fare from Cahuita is around 1,000-1,500 colones.

  • Taxi

    Taxis and tuk-tuks are readily available in Puerto Viejo. A short taxi ride from nearby beaches like Playa Cocles or Playa Chiquita to Playa Puerto Viejo will cost approximately 700 CRC (1.40 USD).

  • Parking

    There is no official parking directly at Playa Puerto Viejo. However, there are several parking options in town within walking distance. Street parking is available, but it can be limited during peak season. There's a makeshift parking lot on the north side of Avenida 73, near the bus station. Expect to pay a small fee to locals who watch over the parked cars.
