Discover more about Rainmaker

Rainmaker Conservation Park, nestled between Jacó and Manuel Antonio on Costa Rica's central Pacific coast, offers a serene escape into a lush, primary rainforest. This private reserve spans 1,500 acres and is dedicated to preserving the region's rich biodiversity. Originally established for scientific research, Rainmaker has become a haven for nature enthusiasts seeking a less crowded alternative to Manuel Antonio National Park. The park features a well-maintained 2.5 km trail system that meanders through the rainforest, alongside the Rio Seco river, and past several stunning waterfalls. Approximately 80% of the forest is primary rainforest, boasting old-growth trees and diverse topography. One of the highlights is the canopy bridge system, comprised of six suspension bridges stretching 250 meters, offering a unique bird's-eye view of the rainforest canopy. These bridges are built to U.S. engineering standards, ensuring safety while minimizing environmental impact. Visitors can enjoy refreshing dips in the natural pools beneath the waterfalls. The trails are designed for easy to moderate hiking, suitable for most fitness levels, though some sections can be steep and slippery, especially after rain. The park is home to diverse wildlife, including various bird species, amphibians, reptiles, and the famous Morpho butterfly. Guided tours are available for those seeking a more in-depth experience and a chance to spot elusive wildlife.
