Getting There

    From Tilarán, drive 11km (7 miles) south on Route 145 towards Monteverde. The entrance to Viento Fresco Waterfall will be signposted on your right. After paying the entrance fee ($16 for foreigners), drive along the dirt road to the parking area near the trailhead. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended due to the road conditions. Parking is free.

  • Public Transport

    From San José, take a bus to Tilarán from Terminal 7-10. The journey takes approximately 4-5 hours. Once in Tilarán, take the TILARAN - MONTEVERDE bus. Ask the driver to drop you off at Viento Fresco Waterfall. From the bus stop, there is a short walk to the entrance. Bus fare from San José to Tilarán is approximately $10-$15.
