If you are starting from the Riva waterfront, head east along the promenade. Continue walking straight until you reach the end of the Riva. Turn left onto Marmontova Ulica, which is the main shopping street. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Vukovarska Ulica and continue straight until you see the Diocletian's Palace entrance. Enter through the large gates and wander through the narrow streets of the palace complex. As you explore, look for a small square called Peristil, which is a great landmark. From Peristil, walk towards the Cathedral of Saint Domnius and head slightly south. The Iron Gate is located on the south side of the palace, near the entrance to the ancient palace walls.
