The landhuis showcases Dutch colonial architectural features, including gables, wooden shutters, and spacious verandas. It stands as a reminder of the island's colonial sugar plantation era. The building has been carefully restored, and visitors can explore the grounds, admire the architecture, and learn about the building's various functions throughout its history. Once part of a larger plantation, Plantage Brakkeput was divided into three sections: Abou (lower), Mei Mei (middle), and Ariba (upper). In the 20th century, rubber plants were planted, and a turtle farm was established. Today, Landhuis Brakkeput Abou is used as a residence. The historic building is constructed in various architectural styles, featuring a T-shape and a high gable roof with dormer windows. Galleries are located on the north, west, and south sides of the building.
