Getting There

    If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest town in Šumava National Park, such as Železná Ruda. Head east on the E49 road towards the town of Klatovy. After approximately 20 km, take the exit for the E53 towards Český Krumlov. Follow the E53 for about 50 km until you reach the intersection for the B388 road toward Passau. Continue on B388 for about 15 km and follow signs for Passau. After entering Passau, navigate to Ort 19, where the Three-river confluence is located. Parking is typically available nearby, but be aware that it may incur a fee of around €1.50 per hour.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach the Three-river confluence using public transportation, begin by taking a bus from Železná Ruda to Klatovy. From Klatovy, transfer to a train heading to Passau. The train journey will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Passau train station, you can take a local bus (line 3 or 4) towards the city center. Disembark at the stop 'Ort' or 'Rathausplatz', which is a short walk from Ort 19. Ensure you have a valid ticket for the bus, which costs approximately €2.50.
