Getting There

  • Car

    From Lums Pond State Park, exit the park and turn left onto Lums Pond Rd. Continue straight to merge onto DE-1 S toward Dover. After about 5.5 miles, take exit 156 for DE-273 W toward New Castle. Follow DE-273 W for approximately 4 miles, then turn right onto US-13 N. After about 1 mile, continue onto DE-9 S. Finally, turn left onto Delaware St, and you will reach First State National Historical Park at 211 Delaware St, New Castle, DE 19720.

    From Lums Pond State Park, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to take you to the nearest public transportation hub. The nearest hub is in the town of New Castle. Once in New Castle, you can utilize the DART First State bus service.
