Discover more about Rehoboth Art League

Founded in 1938, the Rehoboth Art League (RAL) emerged as a haven for artists to teach, gather, and showcase their work in Henlopen Acres, Delaware. Louise Corkran and Colonel Wilbur Corkran generously donated their property, providing a home for the organization that would host artistic legends such as Jack Lewis, Howard Schroeder, Orville Peets, and Mary Mullineux. Today, the RAL boasts over 1,000 members and offers more than 150 classes each year. Annually, the League holds over 20 solo and group exhibitions and produces special events, including Salons, the Annual Cottage Tour, and the Outdoor Fine Art Show, which draws close to 15,000 visitors to its 3.5-acre campus. The League extends its reach to underserved communities across Southern Delaware with exhibitions and arts education opportunities. The RAL's mission is to lead in sponsoring art exhibitions, education, and other programs that inspire all community members to embrace the lifelong value of art. The vision is to foster a diverse community that values all art and artists, where everyone can engage in the appreciation and creation of art and celebrate the multi-cultural history of the region. The campus itself is a draw, featuring historic buildings like the Peter Marsh House, built in 1743. Visitors can explore galleries, studios, and grounds that reflect the rich artistic heritage of the area. The League also preserves a unique piece of its history: doors signed by prominent artists, teachers, and dignitaries who have contributed to the RAL over the years. Whether you're interested in taking a class, viewing an exhibition, or simply immersing yourself in a creative atmosphere, the Rehoboth Art League offers a welcoming space for art lovers of all ages and backgrounds.
