Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From Bayahibe, walk to the main road (Carretera Bayahibe). Look for the bus stop where the local "carritos" (shared vans) or public buses pass. Take a bus heading towards Higüey. The fare is usually around 100 pesos. The bus ride will take approximately 40-50 minutes. Inform the driver that you are going to La Basilica Higuey.

  • Walking

    Once you arrive in Higüey, get off at the main bus terminal. From there, you will need to walk approximately 15-20 minutes to reach La Basilica Higuey. Head northwest on Avenida Juan Pablo II, then turn left onto Calle Pedro A. Pérez. Continue straight until you reach the entrance of La Basilica Higuey. Look for the large structure with a unique architectural design—it’s hard to miss!
