Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Plaza de la Independencia (Plaza Grande), head southeast on Calle Chile. Continue straight to Calle Ronda, where you can find a variety of shops and cafes. Walk along Calle Ronda until you reach Avenida 10 de Agosto. Turn left onto Avenida 10 de Agosto and walk towards the Panecillo neighborhood. After approximately 20 minutes, you will see signs directing you to the Virgin of the Panecillo. Follow the signs, which will lead you up a hill to the monument.

  • Public Transportation (Bus)

    From the Plaza de la Independencia, walk to the nearest bus stop on Avenida 10 de Agosto. Take any bus heading towards the 'Centro Histórico' or 'El Panecillo' (make sure to ask the driver if unsure). The ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to the Panecillo. From there, follow the pedestrian signs leading you to the Virgin of the Panecillo, which is a short walk uphill.
