Getting there

Ferry

To reach Philae, start by making your way to the Aswan Corniche, which is the waterfront promenade along the Nile. If you're near the city center, head towards the river until you reach the ferry terminal located right by the Nile. Look for signs directing you to the Philae ferry. Once at the terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry to Philae Island. The ferry ride takes about 20 minutes, and you'll enjoy beautiful views of the Nile. After arriving at Philae Island, follow the signs to the entrance of the temple complex.

Walking

If you're staying near the Aswan Corniche, you can walk to the ferry terminal. From the center of Aswan, walk towards the Nile, and once you reach the Corniche, head south along the river until you see the ferry terminal. It should take about 10-15 minutes on foot, depending on your starting point. The area is generally safe and has beautiful views of the Nile and surrounding landscape, making for a pleasant walk.

Local Taxi (Motorcycle or Tuk-Tuk)

If you prefer not to walk, you can take a local taxi, motorcycle taxi, or tuk-tuk to the ferry terminal. Simply flag down a motorbike or tuk-tuk in the city center and tell the driver you want to go to the Philae ferry terminal. The fare is usually very affordable, and it should take around 5-10 minutes to reach the terminal depending on traffic. Once you arrive, you can then purchase your ferry ticket to Philae Island.
