Al-Azhar Park: A Green Oasis in the Heart of Cairo

Getting There

• Metro

  If you are near Tahrir Square, head to Sadat Metro Station (Line 1). Take the train towards Helwan and get off at the next station, which is 'Giza'. Once at Giza Station, exit the station and take a taxi or ride-sharing service to Al-Azhar Park. Alternatively, you can walk for about 25 minutes, heading east on Al-Azhar Street, then turn left onto Salah Salem Street.

• Bus

  From Tahrir Square, you can catch Bus 111 or Bus 113 at the nearby bus stop. Inform the driver you want to go to Al-Azhar Park. The buses usually operate every 15-20 minutes. After about 25 minutes, get off at the stop closest to Salah Salem Street. From there, walk east for about 5 minutes, and you will see the entrance to Al-Azhar Park.

• Walking

  If you're in the area of Khan el-Khalili bazaar, you can walk to Al-Azhar Park. Exit the bazaar and head towards Al-Azhar Street. Walk straight for around 15-20 minutes until you reach Salah Salem Street. Turn left and continue walking for about 5 minutes until you arrive at the park entrance.

• Taxi

  You can easily find a taxi in Cairo. Just tell the driver 'Al-Azhar Park' or show them the address: 10 Salah Salem St, El-Darb El-Ahmar. The ride from most central locations in Cairo should take about 15-30 minutes, depending on traffic.

• Ride-sharing

  Use a ride-sharing app like Uber or Careem. Input 'Al-Azhar Park' or the full address (10 Salah Salem St, El-Darb El-Ahmar) as your destination. This is a convenient option if you're unfamiliar with the area and allows you to travel directly to the park without needing to navigate public transport.
