Getting There

• Metro

  If you are near a metro station, take the metro line towards 'El-Marg' and get off at 'Sadat' station. Once you exit the station, head towards Tahrir Square. From Tahrir Square, you can either walk or take a taxi to the Cairo Citadel. If walking, head southeast on Mohamed Mahmoud Street, continue straight until you reach the intersection with Al Abageyah Street, then turn right. Follow Al Abageyah Street until you see the entrance to Cairo Citadel on your left.

• Bus

  Locate a nearby bus stop and take a bus that goes towards 'Al Abageyah' or 'Cairo Citadel'. Look for signs that indicate the bus number and ensure it goes to your desired location. Once you arrive at the stop closest to the Citadel, walk towards Al Abageyah Street, and you will find the entrance to the Cairo Citadel nearby.

• Walking

  If you are staying in the area or nearby, you can walk to the Cairo Citadel. Start from your accommodation and head towards Al Abageyah Street. Follow the street signs or use a map application on your phone. The Citadel is a prominent historical landmark, so it should be relatively easy to find. Look for the large fortress walls which indicate that you are close.

• Taxi

  You can easily catch a taxi from anywhere in Cairo. Simply tell the driver 'Cairo Citadel' or show them the address: 'Al Abageyah, El Khalifa'. The ride should take around 15-30 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure the taxi has a meter running or agree on a price before starting your journey.

• Ride-sharing App

  If you prefer using a ride-sharing service, download a local app like Careem or Uber. Set your destination to 'Cairo Citadel' or input the address 'Al Abageyah, El Khalifa'. The app will guide you to the nearest available driver. Ensure you confirm the driver's details before getting in the car.
