Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're in Islamic Cairo, you can reach Al-Azhar Park on foot. Head towards the historic area of Al-Azhar Mosque, which is a well-known landmark. From there, walk south on Al-Azhar Street until you reach the intersection with Salah Salem Street. Turn right onto Salah Salem Street. Keep walking straight for about 10-15 minutes, and you will see the entrance to Al-Azhar Park on your left. The park is surrounded by a beautiful wall and is hard to miss.

  • Metro and Walking

    If you're further away, consider taking the Cairo Metro. The nearest station to Al-Azhar Park is 'Sadat' on Line 1 (the Red Line). From Sadat station, exit and walk towards the Tahrir Square. From Tahrir Square, head east on Mohamed Mahmoud Street until you reach Al-Azhar Street. Then, turn left onto Al-Azhar Street. Continue walking south until you reach Salah Salem Street, then turn right. Al-Azhar Park will be on your left after a short walk.

    You can take a microbus or a public bus that heads towards 'Al-Azhar' or 'Salah Salem'. Get off at the stop closest to Salah Salem Street. From there, walk towards the entrance of Al-Azhar Park which is located at 10 Salah Salem St. Please check for local bus routes as they may vary, and be prepared with small change (around 5-10 EGP) for the bus fare.
