If you are starting from the Viljandi Town Hall, head towards the central square. Walk straight down Tallinna Street, which will lead you to the main road. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with J. Kuperjanovi Street. Turn right onto J. Kuperjanovi Street and follow it for about 500 meters. You will see the Equestrian statue of General Johan Laidoner at the end of the street, situated in a small park area.

From the Viljandi Castle ruins, exit the castle area and walk down towards the Viljandi Lake. Once you reach the lakeside promenade, turn left and walk along the lakeshore until you reach the end of the lake. From there, head up the hill towards the city center. Continue to follow the signs towards the Equestrian statue of General Johan Laidoner, which is located about 800 meters from the lake, in a park near the main road.
