Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from the National Museum of Ethiopia, head northeast on 1st Street towards 5th Avenue. Continue on 1st Street for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Bole Road. Turn left onto Bole Road and walk for another 1 kilometer. Look for the large roundabout ahead. The Lion of Judah Monument will be located just off the roundabout on your right.

  • Walking

    If you are at Meskel Square, start by walking north towards the large statue of Emperor Menelik II. From there, take the road leading northeast (Kirkos area) for about 1.2 kilometers. You will pass by several local shops and cafes. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. The Lion of Judah Monument will be visible to your left as you approach the roundabout.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    From Merkato, take a minibus heading towards Bole. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Lion of Judah area. The ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Once you get off, walk towards the roundabout, and the monument will be right ahead.

    If you are starting from Addis Ababa University, exit the university and walk towards Sidist Kilo. From there, continue north along the main road for about 1.5 kilometers. As you approach the roundabout, keep an eye out to your right where you will see the Lion of Judah Monument.
