Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the center of Arbaminch, head southeast on Abaya Lake Road (also known as Arba Minch - Chencha Road) for approximately 5 kilometers. You will pass through local neighborhoods and see signs for various attractions. Keep an eye out for the sign for Forty Springs on your left. Once you see the sign, turn left and follow the dirt road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the entrance of Forty Springs. Parking is available near the entrance. Be prepared for a small entrance fee which may vary, so keep some cash handy.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Forty Springs using public transportation, head to the main bus station in Arbaminch. Look for a minibus or shared taxi heading towards the Chencha area. The fare is usually around 20 Ethiopian Birr, but confirm with the driver before boarding. Inform the driver you are going to Forty Springs; they may drop you off close to the entrance. From the drop-off point, it’s a short walk (about 1 kilometer) on a dirt path to the entrance of Forty Springs. Make sure to take some cash for the entrance fee.

• Walking

  If you are staying close to Arbaminch town center and prefer walking, you can make your way to Forty Springs by following the main roads southeast. Start on Abaya Lake Road and walk for approximately 5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for local trails that lead off the road; these can provide a more scenic route. Once you see the sign for Forty Springs, follow the dirt road for about 1 kilometer to reach the entrance. This option is best for those who are physically fit and enjoy walking, but be sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry plenty of water.
