Walking
Start at the Dire Dawa Railway Station. From there, head northeast on 3rd Street towards 1st Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with 4th Street. Turn left onto 4th Street and continue until you reach the main road, known as the Harla Road. Cross the road and follow the signs towards Harla. After about 2 km, you will come across a sign indicating Ejeru River. Follow the path that leads towards the river, which should take about 30 minutes of walking from the main road.
Public Transport
From the center of Dire Dawa, take a minibus (known locally as a 'bajaj') that is heading towards Harla. You can find these minibuses near the Dire Dawa Stadium. Inform the driver that you want to go to Ejeru River. The ride should take approximately 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at Harla, ask locals for directions to Ejeru River, as it is a known location in the area. It will involve a short walk of about 15 minutes from the main stop in Harla.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the shops in Dire Dawa. Start your journey heading towards Harla Road. Keep to the side of the road for safety. As you cycle along Harla Road, look for a sign indicating Ejeru River. Depending on your pace, this ride will take around 30-40 minutes. Once you reach the sign, park your bicycle and walk the remaining distance to the river.
