Car
To reach Kafa Biosphere Reserve from Gambella National Park by car, start by heading south on the main road until you reach the junction towards Mettu. Continue on this road for about 150 kilometers. After passing through Mettu, keep following the signs towards Bonga. As you approach Bonga, look for the signs leading to Kafa Biosphere Reserve. The reserve is located just north of Bonga at coordinates 7.3699281, 36.0564877. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition as some roads may be rough.

Public Transportation
If you prefer to use public transportation, take a bus from Gambella to Mettu. The bus station in Gambella operates several daily services to Mettu. The journey lasts approximately 3-4 hours, and the fare is around 50 Ethiopian Birr. Once in Mettu, you can catch another bus heading to Bonga. This leg of the journey will take about 2-3 hours and costs around 30 Ethiopian Birr. After arriving in Bonga, hire a local taxi or arrange for a tuk-tuk to take you to Kafa Biosphere Reserve, which is about 15 kilometers north of the town.
