Car
From Rovaniemi, drive northeast on Road 81 (Rovaniemi-Posio-Kuusamo road) for approximately 80 km. Turn onto Auttikönkääntie road (a gravel-surfaced road) and continue for 1.2 km to reach the Auttiköngäs parking area. Parking is free and available for approximately 25 cars and 5 buses. Note that the road to the parking area is usually maintained during winter.

From the Rovaniemi bus station, take a bus towards Posio or Kuusamo. Check the schedules for the most up-to-date information. The bus should stop at the Auttiköngäs intersection on Road 81. From the intersection, walk 1.2 km along Auttikönkääntie road to reach the Auttiköngäs parking area and the start of the nature trail. A single bus fare from Rovaniemi to the Auttiköngäs intersection typically costs around €10-€20. Note that there are no direct public transport connections to Auttiköngäs.
