Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Helsinki and take the E18 motorway towards Porvoo. The journey will take approximately 50 minutes. Once you reach Porvoo, follow the signs to the city center. As you approach, look for Koulukuja street. The Devil's Stairs is located at Koulukuja, 06100 Porvoo. There is limited street parking available nearby, so be prepared to find a spot and walk a short distance to the stairs.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach The Devil's Stairs using public transportation, take a bus from Helsinki to Porvoo. Buses leave from the Kamppi bus station and the journey takes about 1 hour. Purchase a ticket from the bus driver or in advance from the bus company’s website, costing around 10-15 euros. Upon arriving in Porvoo, exit at the bus station, and walk towards the city center. Follow the signs to Koulukuja street, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus station.

• Public Transportation (Train and Bus)

  Another option is to take a train from Helsinki to Porvoo. However, there is no direct train line to Porvoo. Instead, take a train to the nearest station (Järvenpää or Lahti) and then transfer to a bus that heads to Porvoo. The total travel time will be longer, approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on connections. Upon arrival in Porvoo, follow the same directions as noted above to reach Koulukuja street and The Devil's Stairs.
