    From Riihimäki railway station, the Finnish Glass Museum is approximately a 5-minute walk. Upon exiting the station, walk along Tehtaankatu. The museum will be on your left. A single bus ticket in Riihimäki costs €3.30 for adults.

    From the center of Riihimäki, the Finnish Glass Museum is easily accessible by foot. The walk is approximately 15-20 minutes. Head east on Hämeenkatu, then turn left onto Tehtaankatu. The museum will be on your right. There are sidewalks along the route.

The Finnish Glass Museum, located in Riihimäki, is a national museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history of glass, with a particular emphasis on Finnish glass design. Established in 1961 and opened to the public in 1965, the museum moved to its current location in a renovated glassworks in 1981. The renovation was designed by Tapio Wirkkala. The museum's collections feature Finnish glass from the early days of the country's glass industry to modern-day industrial production and design. The permanent exhibition displays the history and techniques of glass-making, as well as the evolution of Finnish glass from the 18th century onwards. Visitors can explore a wide array of household, art, and design glass, with a main emphasis on art glass and design since the 1920s. The museum's collection includes approximately 40,000 objects and 51,000 photos, slides, and drawings. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum hosts temporary exhibitions in the old glassblowing facilities, providing a platform for contemporary glass artists and designers. The museum also has a research library and archive, and a museum shop that sells glass-related literature, design glass, and souvenirs. The Finnish Glass Museum is located near the old Riihimäki Glassworks (1919-1990). Nearby, visitors can find Lasismi Glass Studio and Mafka&Alakoski Glass Studio. Less than a kilometer from the Museum is Hyttikortteli, a housing area built for the glass workers in the 1910s.
