The Maison du Peuple, located at 24 Rue Charles Michels in Limoges, stands as a testament to the city's rich labor history and architectural heritage. Constructed in 1936, this building was designed to provide a central location for trade unions, which had previously been scattered throughout the city. The Maison du Peuple replaced an earlier, smaller Bourse du Travail (Labor Exchange) established in 1896.The decision to construct the Maison du Peuple came from the socialist municipality of Léon Betoulle in the 1930s.
