Car
If traveling by car from the main entrance of Akanda National Park, head southeast on the main road, following signs for Ikouka Beach. Drive for about 10 kilometers until you reach the junction near the beach entrance. Turn left onto the dirt road leading to Ikouka Beach. The beach is approximately 2 kilometers down this road. Be cautious of potholes and uneven terrain. Parking is available near the beach. Parking may be free or require a nominal fee, depending on the location and availability.
Walking
If you are already within Akanda National Park and prefer walking, you can reach Ikouka Beach by following the marked trails. From the nearest park visitor center, follow the signs leading towards the beach. The walk is approximately 3 kilometers and takes about 45 minutes. Wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as the trail can be sandy and hot during midday.
Public Transport
From Libreville, you can take a bush taxi or minibus towards Akanda National Park. These can drop you off near the park entrance. From there, you can either walk or take a taxi to Ikouka Beach. The cost of a bush taxi or minibus from Libreville to Akanda is approximately 300-500 XAF.
