Getting There

• Car

  From Gudauri, head southeast on the main road (Georgian Military Highway) toward Mughure. Continue driving for approximately 15 km until you reach the junction for Mughure. Turn left onto a smaller road leading toward the village of Mughure. Follow this road for about 5 km, where you will see signs for Hawk Mountain. There is a parking area available near the trailhead. Ensure your vehicle has good clearance, as some parts of the road may be rough.

• Public Transportation

  Take a marshrutka (shared minibus) from Gudauri to Mughure. Marshrutkas depart regularly from the main bus stop in Gudauri. The fare is typically around 5 GEL. Once you arrive in Mughure, you can either walk to Hawk Mountain, which is about a 30-minute hike uphill, or you can ask locals for directions to the trailhead. Walking paths may not be well-marked, so it is advisable to have a map or a GPS-enabled device.

• Hiking

  If you prefer to hike from Gudauri to Hawk Mountain, start at the main square in Gudauri and head southeast toward the Georgian Military Highway. From there, follow the path leading up toward Mughure, which is well-trodden. This hike can take about 2-3 hours depending on your pace and includes steep sections. Ensure you have sufficient water and snacks, as there are no facilities along the way.
