Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Kutaisi, take the E60 highway north towards Zugdidi. After approximately 24 km, take the exit towards the village of Okatse. Follow the signs for Okatse Canyon Visitor Centre. Once you reach the village, continue straight until you see the visitor centre on your left. Parking is available on-site. Note that there may be a small fee for parking.

• Public Transportation

  From Kutaisi, take a marshrutka (minibus) from the central bus station to the town of Khoni. Once in Khoni, you will need to switch to another marshrutka that goes to the village of Okatse. Inform the driver that you want to go to the Okatse Canyon Visitor Centre. The total travel time is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, and the marshrutka fare is usually around 5-10 GEL.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Kutaisi to the Okatse Canyon Visitor Centre. This option is more expensive, typically costing around 50-70 GEL for the one-way trip. It is advisable to negotiate the fare before starting the journey. The drive takes about 30-40 minutes.

• Walking from the nearest bus stop

  If you arrive at the Okatse village by marshrutka, you may need to walk approximately 1.5 km to reach the Okatse Canyon Visitor Centre. Follow the road signs directing you to the centre, which is located on the outskirts of the village. The walk is scenic and will take around 20-30 minutes.
