Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Kutaisi, start at the central square (I. Abashidze Square). Head southwest towards the bridge over the Rioni River. Cross the bridge and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Gamsakhurdia Street. Turn right onto Gamsakhurdia Street and follow it for about 1 kilometer. You will pass by several shops and cafes. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Tsereteli Street and continue for approximately 1.5 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Geguti; you may need to ask locals for the specific direction as it can be easily missed. After about 2 kilometers of walking, you will see signs for Geguti Palace. The palace is located just off the main road; follow the path leading up to the entrance.

    From Kutaisi city center, head to the nearest bus station located near the central square. Look for a mini-bus (marshrutka) heading towards the village of Geguti or directly to the Geguti Palace. The fare is usually very affordable (around 1-2 GEL). Once on the bus, inform the driver that you want to go to Geguti Palace. The ride will take around 20-30 minutes. Get off when you reach the stop for Geguti Palace; it is well-known and the driver will likely announce it. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the entrance of the palace.
