Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the central area of Kutaisi, at the Kutaisi Central Market (Kolkheti St, 3). Exit the market and head northwest on Kolkheti Street towards Bagrati Street. Continue walking straight for about 1 km (approximately 15 minutes). You will pass by several shops and cafes along the way. As you approach the hill, you will see the cathedral rising above the city. Turn left onto Bagrati Street. The cathedral is located at the end of the street on your right side.

    From the central bus station (located on Tsereteli St.), take a minibus (marshrutka) heading towards Bagrati Cathedral. Look for routes labeled 'Bagrati' or 'Cathedral'. The fare is low, usually around 1 Lari. Inform the driver you want to stop at Bagrati Cathedral. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes. Once you get off, follow the signs to the cathedral, which will be visible from the stop.
