Getting There

  • Public Transport

    If you are starting from Bonn Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and head to the tram stop located just outside. Get on tram line 61 heading towards 'Bonn, Bad Godesberg' and ride for 4 stops. Get off at 'Bonn, Poppelsdorf' stop. From there, walk along the Poppelsdorfer Allee towards the south, which turns into Poppelsdorfer Straße. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Am Medienstadt. The Japanischer Garten will be on your right side, just past the Botanical Gardens.

  • Walking

    If you are in the city center, locate the Münsterplatz (Cathedral Square) and walk towards the Bonn University campus. Enter the campus and head straight towards the Botanical Gardens. As you enter the gardens, follow the signs that direct you towards the Japanischer Garten, which is located on the southern side of the Botanical Gardens. It is a beautiful, serene area perfect for a leisurely stroll.

    From the Bonn Central Station, walk to the bus stop located just outside the station. Take bus line 600 or 601 towards 'Bonn, Bad Godesberg' and get off at 'Bonn, Poppelsdorf' stop. After alighting, walk along Poppelsdorfer Allee towards the south, which becomes Poppelsdorfer Straße. The Japanischer Garten will be on your right side as you approach the Botanical Gardens.
