From Cologne Central Station (Köln Hauptbahnhof), purchase a ticket to Düsseldorf. Take the S-Bahn (S6, S11) or an Intercity train towards Düsseldorf. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Düsseldorf Central Station (Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and follow the signs for the tram station.

At Düsseldorf Central Station, take tram line 701 or 709 towards 'Düsseldorf, Heinrich-Heine-Allee'. Ride for 3 stops and get off at the 'Heinrich-Heine-Allee' stop. From there, you can transfer to tram line 703 towards 'Düsseldorf, Neuss' and get off at the 'Ständehausstraße' stop. Kunstsammlung will be a short walk from the tram stop.
