Getting There

  • Public Transport

    Start your journey at Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station). From there, take the S-Bahn line S1 towards Blankenese. After about 20 minutes, get off at the station called 'Blankenese'. Once you exit the station, follow the signs towards the Elbstrand. Walk down the hill towards the Elbe River, and you will reach the beautiful beach area known as Elbstrand in about 10-15 minutes.

  • Public Transport

    If you are near the Reeperbahn area, head to the 'Reeperbahn' U-Bahn station and take the U3 line towards 'Barmbek'. Get off at 'Altona' station. Transfer to the S-Bahn line S1 or S21 towards 'Blankenese' or 'Wedel'. After approximately 10 minutes, alight at 'Blankenese' station. Follow the same walking directions to Elbstrand as mentioned previously.

  • Walking

    If you are already in the Altona district, you can walk directly to Elbstrand. From Altona train station, head towards the riverfront (Elbe). Walk along the promenade, and you will find beautiful pathways leading directly to Elbstrand. The walking distance from Altona station to Elbstrand is about 20-25 minutes.
