Hundreds of artifacts trace coffee's journey from Ethiopian legend to Hamburg's trading heyday, including roasting machines, antique mills, filters, and recreated old-time shops. Heavy oak barrels store Hamburger Rotspon, a French red wine matured in local tradition, with tastings revealing its nuanced flavors.

Fresh Roasting and Café Upstairs

Ascend to the modern yet historic upper level where the on-site roastery produces specialty coffees daily using gentle drum roasting. Watch beans transform, then enjoy them brewed fresh in the café—espresso, lattes, or black—or grab to-go. The adjacent shop stocks 30+ varieties, regional jams, honeys, spices, teas, and chocolates from small producers.

Guided Experiences and Events

Join museum tours with roast coffee samples (Tue-Fri hourly 10am-4pm; weekends hourly), English tours weekends at 11am, or public tastings. Tea tastings occur Wednesdays 6pm, Fridays 4pm, Sundays 4:30pm. The 700+ sqm venue hosts private events for up to 150, from corporate gatherings to weddings, with custom catering and atmospheric design blending old brick with modern touches by architect Stephen Williams.
