If you are driving, head towards the town of Konstanz. From the A81 Autobahn, take the exit towards Konstanz and follow the signs for Insel Mainau. You will need to cross a bridge to get to the island. There is a parking area near the entrance of Schloss Mainau, but be aware that there is an entrance fee to park. Once parked, follow the signs to the castle, which is a short walk from the parking area.

Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a train to Konstanz Hauptbahnhof (main station). From there, take bus line 2 towards "Litzelstetten, Fähre". Get off at the stop "Mainau". The bus ride is approximately 30 minutes. After disembarking, follow the pedestrian path to the island entrance. Note that there is an entrance fee for visiting Schloss Mainau.

Ferry
Another scenic option is to take a ferry from Meersburg or Konstanz to Insel Mainau. If coming from Meersburg, board the ferry at the Meersburg ferry terminal. The ferry ride offers beautiful views of Lake Constance and takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at the island, follow the signs to Schloss Mainau. Be aware that ferry tickets must be purchased before boarding, and an entrance fee is also required to access the castle.
