Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in Osu, head south towards Oxford Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with 28th February Road. Turn left onto 28th February Road and continue straight. Independence Square will be on your left, just before you reach the sea.

  • Public Transport (Trotro)

    From any point in Accra, find a trotro (minibus) heading to 'Osu'. Ask the driver to drop you off at the 'Black Star Square' or 'Independence Arch' stop. Once you get off, walk back towards the square, which is just a short walk away.

  • Walking from the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum

    From the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, head east towards the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Liberation Road. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with 28th February Road. Turn right and walk until you see Independence Square on your left.
