Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Accra, head towards the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum located at 2nd Circular Rd. Once there, exit the mausoleum area and walk towards the main road (George Bush Highway). Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with the Accra-Cape Coast Road. Turn left at this intersection and proceed straight. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards James Town. After about 20 minutes of walking, you will see Cleland Rd on your right. Turn onto Cleland Rd and continue walking until you reach the James Town Lighthouse, which will be on your left.

  • Public Transport (Trotro)

    Head to the nearest Trotro station, which is likely near the Kwame Nkrumah Circle. Look for a Trotro heading towards Tema or Accra Central. Get off at the station near the Tema Bus Stop. From there, ask locals for directions to James Town or follow the signs towards the lighthouse. Walk straight down the road and take a left onto Cleland Rd. The lighthouse is a short walk down this road on your left.
