Getting There

  • Walking

    From Europa Point, start at the iconic lighthouse, the Europa Point Lighthouse, which is easily recognizable. Head north along the main path that runs parallel to the coastline. Continue walking towards the northern part of the peninsula, keeping the sea on your left. After approximately 600 meters, you will reach the entrance of the Mediterranean Steps. Take the Mediterranean Steps path which will lead you up towards the rock face. This scenic walk will provide stunning views of the coastline. As you ascend, follow the steps and keep to the right at any forks. Continue until you reach the top of the steps, where you will find yourself near the top of the Rock of Gibraltar. From here, you will need to head towards the north side of the Rock, following the signs that lead towards the main road that goes toward the border with Spain. After reaching the border, you will need to take public transportation or walk to Tarifa, Spain, which is where Boquete de la Cilla is located.
