    From Chania Old Town, the harbor is easily accessible on foot. Simply follow the main streets towards the waterfront. The walk from the center of the Old Town to the harbor is generally less than 10 minutes. As you approach the harbor, you'll see the iconic lighthouse and the Firkas Fortress.

  • Public Transport

    If arriving by bus at Chania's central bus station, walk to the top of Halidon Street, cross the square, and turn right. The bus station is on the left. From there, it's a short walk downhill towards the Old Town and the harbor. Bus tickets cost approximately €1.60 if purchased from a vendor or €2.50 if purchased on the bus.

    Taxis are readily available throughout Chania. A taxi from Chania International Airport (CHQ) to Chania Harbor costs approximately €25-€30 and takes around 20 minutes. A taxi from Souda Port to Chania Harbor also costs around €25-€30. Taxis can be found at designated taxi ranks or booked by phone.

    If driving, be aware that parking in the immediate vicinity of the Venetian Harbor is limited and can be challenging, especially during peak season. Several free parking lots are available within a 5-10 minute walk, including areas near the stadium and east of Koum Kapi beach. Paid parking options are also available near the Municipal Market and behind 1866 Square, with hourly rates starting from €3.90. Parking at Chania Port Parking costs €2 per 2.5 hours.
