Chrysoskalitissa Monastery: Crete's Cliffside Sanctuary

Chrysoskalitissa Monastery, whose name translates to 'Golden Step', is a captivating 17th-century Eastern Orthodox Christian monastery on Crete's southwest coast. Located approximately 72 kilometers southwest of Chania, near Elafonisi Beach, the monastery is perched atop a towering cliff, offering panoramic views of the Libyan Sea.
