Bus
From the center of Rethymno, head to the main bus station, located near the harbor. Take the bus towards 'Melidoni' or 'Anogia'. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to inform the driver or check the route on the bus display. Get off at the 'Melidoni' stop. From there, follow the signs towards Melidoni Cave, which is just a 10-minute walk uphill.
Walking
If you prefer walking and are in Rethymno's old town, start at the Venetian Harbor. Head east towards the main road (Ethnikis Antistaseos), and follow it north. Continue straight until you reach a junction with the road leading to Melidoni. Turn left and follow this road for about 6 km. The Melidoni Cave will be on your right. This walk will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
Taxi
You can easily find a taxi in the old town or call one from your hotel. Request to go to 'Melidoni Cave'. The ride should take around 20 minutes from the center of Rethymno. Ensure to confirm the fare before starting your trip.
