Getting There

  • Bus

    From Rethymno, head to the main bus station located on 28th October Street. Purchase a ticket to Zaros. The bus ride will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Zaros bus stop, exit the bus and head straight down the main road (Techniti Limni Votomos). Follow the road for about 15-20 minutes until you reach Zaros Lake, which is on your left.

  • Walking

    If you are already in Zaros, you can reach Zaros Lake by walking. Start from the village square in Zaros. Head south on the main road (Techniti Limni Votomos) and walk for about 1.5 kilometers. You will see signs for the lake along the way. The walk takes approximately 20-25 minutes.

    For a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Rethymno to Zaros Lake. Taxis can be found at the main bus station or can be booked via local taxi services.
