Walking
Starting from Fira, the capital of Santorini, head east along the main pedestrian pathway (Agiou Mina Street) towards the bus terminal. Once at the bus terminal, look for signs indicating the bus to Pyrgos. Take the bus to Pyrgos village (approximately a 20-minute ride). Upon arriving in Pyrgos, exit the bus and head towards the main square. From the square, follow the signs to the Prophet Elias Monastery. The path to the monastery is a bit steep; take your time as you ascend. The Lookout Point is situated next to the monastery and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the island. The total walking distance from Pyrgos village to the Lookout Point is about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles).
Hiking
For those feeling adventurous, you can hike to Prophet Elias Lookout Point. Starting from Oia, take the scenic hiking trail towards Fira, which is about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). Once in Fira, follow the previous instructions to take the bus to Pyrgos. From Pyrgos, hike up to the Lookout Point, which is approximately a 30-minute uphill trek from the village. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as the trail can be steep and exposed.
Public Transport
If you're in Kamari or Perissa, you can take the local bus to Fira. Once in Fira, proceed to the bus terminal and take the bus to Pyrgos. After arriving in Pyrgos, follow the signs toward the Prophet Elias Monastery, which will lead you to the Lookout Point. Expect about a 30-minute uphill walk from the village to reach your destination.
